A letter to the church (with my own hands)

Friends,

I know you are saints, prophets, friends of God, our Lord. I’m trying to write in english because it is your first language. Please, forgive my bad english.

I have read the prayer book (“semeando para a eternidade”).  In fact, that words are true and sound doctrine, but my heart is burning. I do need to say some words to you all.

Our church is extremely poor. Most of our friends do not have jobs nor money to survive; Most of our members are sick. Some of them are old and live in their parents’ house (without real love). Our eyes are closed, although we think they are opened.

It is a rude talk, of course. But, as I have already said: you are saints, prophets, friends of God. I hope you understand me. To whom the book “semeando para a eternidade” is destinated for?  It looks like to the rich ones.

We need a new speech. God is a Father and lives in glory. He doesn’t want his children in need, but in a good fight.   Our people need to understand: fight against poverty is a mission!  If we have money we can share. There is more glory in giving than in receiving.

For it is written:

“Sir, you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’  His master answered, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave! ” matthew 25:19

“The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys.” Job 42:12

Abraham, Jacob, Job and many others were rich. Our church cannot be accommodated with poverty. We need to fight a good fight with understanding and courage.

“… Take heart! I have overcome the world” John 16:32-33

It is easy to say: “poverty please God”. But it is a lie! A humble heart pleases God, not a lazy one!

I hope you understand. Again, apologize my terrible english.

God bless us all
